Andrew C. Burks Jr.
Candidate for
Houston City Council At-Large Pos. #3
|
| |
Andrew C. Burks, Jr., is among today’s finest men and women to who
our city can feel confident in passing on the Baton of Leadership to
Houston City Councilmember At Large Position #3. Andrew is a
native Houstonian, growing up in Third Ward. At an early age Andrew’s
parents instilled in him high moral fibers bringing him up in the church,
involving him in community activities such as the YMCA and the Red
Shield Boys Club. It was through these organizations that the mold was
made for the development of a well rounded leader. Andrew is married
to Thyra L. Burks. They have three children and four grandchildren.
Andrew has been a minister for 15 years and is the current Pastor at
Bailey Chapel C.M.E. Church. He is also the President and CEO of
AM-PM Telephone Service, Inc., the first African American owned,
telephone interconnect company in Houston. By Andrew being a business
man and pastor you have a individual leader who is both compassionate
to the needs of Houstonians and is capable of understanding and aiding
our city in it’s daily operations. These are his assets and our city
will greatly benefit with Andrew on council. |
